Background
SOLAFT Filtration Solutions is a vertically integrated supplier of industrial filtration solutions across Asia, Australia, and the Americas. They specialize in the development and manufacturing of high-performance industrial filtration media for a wide scope of applications, ranging from filter bags for power generation to pressure leaf filters for adaptation, to the harsh environments of the alumina industry.
Challenge
SOLAFT was looking for a way to track the lifecycle of a filter bag from the time it was manufactured until it was replaced after use. Using traditional methods to track the life and history of a filter bag proved highly time-consuming, as each filter baghouse had thousands of installed filters. In large factories, these issues compounded due to the lack of proper usage data, leading to non-optimal usage of filters.
Solution
WBPRO proposed a solution to build a web-based Filter Bag Management System, which tracks the entire lifecycle of a filter and provides customers with the tools necessary to view filter performance and better predict their filter purchasing and maintenance needs. The system was developed as a multi-supplier system that allows suppliers (manufacturers of filters) and customer organizations to independently use the system.
The system consists of:
- A web-based application for managing the back-end system and reporting.
- A mobile application to be used by installers for searching filters while installing and changing filters.
The suppliers can use the system to accept orders from clients, automatically generate unique scannable codes for each filter, and assign bags to clients. The clients can set up baghouse sites, install/remove filters, and track the lifecycle of each filter. The backend provides extensive reporting and visualization capabilities.
